Continuing Education / On-the-job Training The ‘Skills Gap’
has become a major threat to growth & competitiveness for many employers.
To help overcome serious disconnect between employers and education/training
providers, the Multicultural Chamber of Commerce, has established its own
post-secondary institution, Dominican International Institute, duly approved by
the State of Michigan since 2010, as a ‘Vocational /Career College’, to provide
short, reasonably priced Harvard-University style ‘Case-Study’ base courses, to
meet the needs of corporations and employees.
Although Corporations have the
facility to work with many prestigious colleges & universities, statistics
shows that many of these programs are not only expensive and lengthy, but
employees often drop-out complaining about irrelevant courses, which does not always help
their personal or professional goals, or help employers in a meaningful &
measureable way.
The Skills Gap is compounded
because of more than a $1 trillion in student-loans & disillusioned
students – both who drop-out to work and support the family, and even those
who graduated and can’t find a meaningful job. The abysmal graduation rate of only 36 per
cent at 4-Year research universities, 19% at other universities and a shocking
4% at community colleges is perhaps a good indication of why 92% of corporate
executives believe there is a serious gap in workforce skills and why nearly 50%
are struggling to fill jobs.
A
recent study by Gallup found that only 11% of business leaders say that college
graduates are well prepared for the workplace, while 96 per cent of colleges
& universities report that they are preparing students for success in
workplace.
While
some of our seminars & workshops are FREE
to all members, nearly 600 other exciting courses can be had for as little as
$5.00 per hour. Courses are available online, on-campus, and in some cases may
be offered at your location, to fulfill your
needs and using your own ‘Case Study’ situations. Because adult students have
different needs & learning styles, our programs are NOT wedded to one
pedagogy.
Employment Opportunity:
As an additional
service to our members, the Multicultural Chamber of Commerce can also help you
find qualified candidates for jobs, as we encourage Student & Individual Membership,
and maintain Resumes & CVs from local as well as foreign applicants. There is no extra cost for you to
submit your vacancies to MCC.

unique benefit plan offers all individual & corporate members of the
Multicultural Chamber of Commerce to enjoy up to 25 per cent discount, being
